Who is Stalking Me On Facebook

Who Is Stalking Me On Facebook | Over the past few weeks much of my students insisted they understand 'a method' to see who took a look at your facebook profile the most. Generally I do not care about such 'myths' but since it didn't pass away and trainees didn't believe my 'that's impossible to work' here a short article about it and the reason why it will not work.

Who Is Stalking Me On Facebook

The idea: Discover your facebook ID (if you don't know the best ways to do that, google it. Easy as 1,2,3), navigate to your profile by means of your very own ID, right click, open source code and after that see your 'stalker'.

Here are some screenshots that reveal how it should work.

1.) Browse to your profile by means of your ID, ideal click and view page source.

2.) Browse for the entry 'friendslist' in the source code.

And here the reason this DOES NOT WORK!

1.) Pals and the private data Facebook gathers from them and you is their biggest excellent. They would NEVER EVER EVER make it accesible and simple to discover. If you can find it out like this, everybody else could discover it out too. Just consider the issues this may cause. That's something Facebook would never ever wish to take place due to the fact that they would get into great deals of trouble.

2.) This part of the source code does show some kind of a list, true. But it is rather likely that it shows the buddies you are probably to interact with. As you may now Facebook ranks your good friends and the news you see and on wich position your good friends appear on your interaction with them. So if you are most likely to communicate with a buddy (state it's your sister or somebody you used to talk with a lot over the previous few days) this pal will make it to the top of the list. It is NOT the individual who visited your profile the last.

3.) If you do not believe me, think some of the other geeks and Facebook addicts out there. Example: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/13789565/what-is-the-significance-of-orderedfriendslistinitialdata.

Hope that assists and the misconception of 'I know who visited my profile last/ most' will finally die.

Ways You Can Block A Facebook Stalker

1. Via Your Block Lists

You can block both people and applications.

In Facebook, go to > Account > Privacy Settings and find the item called > Block Lists at the bottom of the page. Click the > Modify your lists connect to continue.

On the following page you can get in Facebook users by name and email address and obstruct them.

If there are numerous individuals with the exact same name, you will see a list of matching profiles. Click the > Block button next to the person you were trying to find.

2. Via Their Profile.

On each Facebook user profile there is a > Report/Block this Individual link at the bottom left. Click this link and a window will pop up that allows you to make a choice.

For example, you could report the person for > Undesirable contact and examine package to > Block this person. If you opt for the block, the name will appear in your Block Lists, as explained above.

3. Via Their Messages.

If the individual you wish to block has actually sent you any messages, you can obstruct them by clicking the > Report link next to their name and the date the message was gotten. To see the link you should open the message. As soon as you click it, a window with further choices will pop up.

Note that nobody you obstruct will be notified of the action. However, if they are on your friend list, they will be removed and your profile will not show up to them. Likewise, you will not have the ability to see their profile. You both will be unnoticeable to each other, with the exception of third celebration applications.

If you accidentally blocked someone, you can quickly eliminate the block. Go to your Block Lists and click the > Unblock link next to the person's name. You will be asked to validate. Uncloging a person will not bring back a previous connection.

4. Eliminate Your Standard Directory Details.

If you have a serious stalker, chances are they will simply set up a brand-new Facebook account as soon as you block them. In this case you need to think about making your profile private, so that complete strangers can not discover and bug you.

The first thing you should do, is remove as much of yourself as possible from the > Fundamental Directory Info. Go to > Account > Personal privacy Settings and click on > View Settings.

On the following page you can specify who can browse and find you on Facebook, send friend demands or messages, see your buddy list, and more. For each item choose thoroughly from the following choices: Everybody, Pals of Pals, or Friends Only.

Sadly, you can not entirely hide yourself. Facebook specifies that "your name, profile picture, gender, and network are constantly available to everyone." This explains why.

5. Tighten Your Privacy Settings.

Besides restricting fundamental directory site information, you must likewise limit who can see the important things you are sharing. Return to > Account > Privacy Settings and click the > Customize settings to change your > Sharing on Facebook alternatives. You can likewise pick from a default setting.

A new page with a list of choices will open. Go through all the points and decide who you want to see your posts, your personal info, or things others share with you. You can choose from Everybody, Friends of Pals, Friends Just, or Personalize each point and make the info visible to only yourself or conceal it from specific individuals.

It goes without stating that Facebook is just one medium through which an individual can stalk you. No matter how tight your privacy settings or how reliable the individuals on your buddy list are, someone figured out to discover and harass you still has the remainder of the internet at their disposal. Make certain to treat your individual details, your contact information, and your online privacy in general like a raw egg.
